Anoj

Support Worker, Muay Thai Specialist & Wellness Mentor

Anoj moved to Brisbane in 2020 to study a Bachelor of Business Management and has since built a strong foundation in the healthcare space, with four years’ experience in medical administration and volunteering in youth mental health.

A committed Muay Thai practitioner for over three years, Anoj now competes at an amateur level and is known within his gym as a supportive teammate and positive role model for young people beginning their martial arts journey.

Outside of training and study, he enjoys painting, exploring nature, caring for his aquarium, and collecting vintage clothes to up-cycle. He’s also a big fan of superhero comics and films.

Kind, curious, and grounded in values of integrity and gratitude, Anoj is excited to grow in the disability support field and build genuine, meaningful connections with those he works alongside.

James

Support Worker & Jiu-Jitsu Coach

James is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over a decade of experience in combat sports. Staying active—whether it’s on the mats, in the gym, or out in nature—is a core part of who he is. He’s passionate about movement, discipline, and the mindset that martial arts helps to cultivate.

Outside of training, James enjoys reading, journaling, hiking, and mixing music as a creative outlet. His true passion lies in empowering others—coaching, sharing knowledge, and supporting people to grow into stronger, more confident versions of themselves.

James has recently joined the team to support young male adults through Jiu-Jitsu, community access, and domestic assistance. He brings a calm, grounded presence and a growth-focused mindset to all that he does.

Nick

Supporting Growth Through Movement and Connection

Nick is a considerate and caring individual who is supportive and encouraging to all those around him. With experience over 3 years coaching kids ju-jitsu and tutoring, he has helped many feel proud and confident in themselves and reach new levels in skills both mentally and physically. He is patient and reliable, someone you can count on no matter what. He always makes everyone feel understood and heard and provides a space where they can be uniquely themselves. 

You can find Nick on the mats most evenings training Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Afterwards, he will still be experimenting different techniques and strategies to apply in his next training session. This dedication is something he also carries into his studies. Nick has a year and a half left of his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering to which he is hardworking and proactive. Aside from this, Nick enjoys preparing delicious meals, hitting the gym and spending time with family.

Jomei

Aspiring Chemical Engineer & Lifelong Learner

Originally from the Sunny Coast, Jomei moved to Brisbane to pursue her passion for Chemical Engineering—driven by her creativity, curiosity, and strong problem-solving skills.

Outside her studies, she enjoys a balanced and active lifestyle, spending her time at the gym, playing sports, practicing yoga and meditation, baking, drawing, journaling, listening to music, and exploring nature.

Hardworking and diligent, Jomei values continuous learning and approaches life with an open mind, always ready to try new things and grow from every experience. As a natural role model, she aims to inspire others, lead with compassion, and bring out the best in the people around her.

Mary

Support Worker & Human Movement Student

Mary is currently studying a Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences at the University of Queensland. She brings energy, empathy, and a strong passion for health and wellbeing into her work.

Alongside her studies, Mary works in an Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program at a primary school, where she supports children in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. Through this role, she has gained experience working with children with additional needs, developing patience, adaptability, and effective communication skills.

Mary has played volleyball for over 10 years, building strong teamwork skills, discipline, and a lifelong love of movement. She enjoys staying active through gym training, walking, and Pilates.

Outside of work and study, Mary enjoys reading, drawing, listening to podcasts, and exploring Brisbane’s food scene as a proud foodie.

Mary supports participants through movement-based activities, wellbeing routines, and creative engagement, bringing warmth, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference.

Shantal

Support Worker & Martial Arts Coach

Shantal lives in the Logan area, where she runs a full-time martial arts studio and delivers Domestic Violence Prevention workshops to local schools. With a background in customer service and teaching across diverse communities, she is known for her calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

With over 20 years of martial arts experience, Shantal has trained and competed in Taekwondo, Hapkido, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai. She is also a qualified Personal Trainer and is passionate about sharing the physical and mental benefits of martial arts with people of all ages and abilities.

Outside of work, Shantal enjoys camping, hiking, travelling, hot yoga, reformer Pilates, strength training, and spending time with her dog, Kiko.

Shantal supports participants through martial arts, fitness, and confidence-building activities, bringing experience, care, and genuine passion to every session.

Indigo

Music-Inspired, Person-Centred Support

Indigo is a passionate musician currently studying a dual degree in Music and Psychology in Brisbane. She is inspired by how the human mind works and hopes to pursue a future in music therapy, using creativity and music as tools for healing and connection.

Known for being empathetic, friendly, reliable, and supportive, Indigo values personal growth and prioritises creating safe, dependable environments where everyone feels heard and supported.

Outside of work and study, Indigo enjoys spending time in nature through camping and hiking. She also loves cooking and baking for friends and family, and exploring creative outlets such as watercolour painting and quilling.

Indigo believes creativity plays a powerful role in wellbeing and self-discovery. She finds presence through art and music and values spaces that encourage self-expression and personal exploration. She’s excited to build genuine connections and support individuals to express themselves confidently and safely.
